Well, can’t help you on the $$$

BUT

If you have a CQBL with separate IR light, then you can detach the light when it’s not needed. This reducing weight/bulk.

If you have an all in one unit, then you either have it mounted on the gun or not. And once you have it zeroed, you’re not gonna want to take it off.

Not very many ways to get around the weight/bulk/$$$ issue if you wanna shoot under nods.

ETA, look into an OTAL if you want a capable laser that can be run on a tape switch and save some $$$
