    .22 conversion for 1911

So far I've found Tactical Solutions and STI's upper conversion units for a 1911 (and 2011) frames. Any one had experiences with either, good or bad? Any others out there worth looking at?

ETA: Also thinking about running a suppressor on it. TacSol has threaded barrels available, haven't heard back from STI yet.

I have a Marvel that I've run with and without an Outback II that I like quite a bit. Not as quiet as I'd like, but it's definitely hearing safe.

I probably only have 200 rounds through the thing though, so take my input for what it's worth. It is, however, EXTREMELY accurate.

I'm running a TS slide on a caspian frame. I encountered some issues and made a rather long post about it.

My Marvel has untold number of rounds through it (I'm the 3rd owner) and it has been great. I liked it so much, I built up a dedicated frame for it.

OK, heard back from STI, no threaded barrels available through them (no surprise there). So where do you source a threaded barrel? Stormlake?

The Marvel units come with a barrel that extends slightly from the slide. When I bought mine they weren't available threaded, so I sent the slide assembly to Gemtech and they threaded it for me. Marvel now sells their kit with a threaded barrel so that saves you a step and some cost.
