One of the best lines was when Larusso and Kreese were about to get it on and Kreese smiled at Larusso and said, "glad you finally got past the "its for defense only crap" lol.

I watched the first five episodes and we watched the original movie last night. My kids enjoyed it. They think Karate Kid means Smith and Chan and takes place in China. =)

Poor kids. At least you are getting them on the right path, really enjoy Jackie Chan...even like Will Smith...but that reboot really was awful. Felt really bad for Jackie Chan. Karate Kid 3 with Hillary Swank was better and that was pretty bad.

Iron Eagle, The Final Countdown and Top Gun for the perfect triple feature. And you have to love any movie that actually has the line "attack them through the flames."
Air Wolf also. Great theme song, blew stuff up. Pretty good, though Stringfellow Hawke is no OH58D....

I saw some interesting videos on YouTube about the F14 pilots that shot Final Countdown. Interesting stuff.

With the exception of possibly bringing in some of the characters from movie number III, it's almost better to skip that one entirely.

Lord, I hope they don't bring in Hilary Swank...

That was Terry Silver from season 3 Kreese was calling at the end of the last episode. He called him by name in the POW camp as well.

I had completely forgotten there were four movies. I thought Hillary Swank was Karate Kid III, when it was actually The NEXT Karate Kid. Part III was so completely forgettable, but yeah expect to see Terry Silver in Season Four.

So far the only thing I really liked about Season Three was the Kreese backstory, but I'm not crazy about the message that implies all Green Berets were "no mercy - killing machines", a lot of vets (including Nam special forces) were among the first martial arts instructors in the US and most of them managed to leave the negative experiences at the door.

There were exceptions of course, but the dojo wars (which sadly actually happened) were mostly idiots like John Keenan (aka Count Dante) who wouldn't have lasted 5 days in the military.
