Great series. Glad there have been flashbacks to the first movie. “Put ‘em in a body bag!” Yeah!

Season Five is up. Nice finish for the series. Season 4 felt like it got a little lost. They gave the show a little bit of it's "toxic masculinity" back that made the first season work so well.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

We went from Johnny Lawrence having been a bit downtrodden and building a business and being antagonized by a wealthy, yet petty Larusso but still having success and rebuilding his life…..
To a live action anime where every last person in each movie gets a callback. And it devolved into old people actively caring about karate crap that happened almost 40 years ago.
And not even in a fun Cannon films sort of way.
If I were a 70 something Billionaire Nam Vet, my utter last concern is over a mall karate tournament in the 80s.
I will admit that is one aspect of all of this that I never understood. Why would a rich guy care? They did add a reason finally, and I will not spoil it. Dojo Wars Hollywood style.
