I’ve carried Benchmade products thru two wars, and in my every day carry kit, and now the past several years as a peace officer. Never had the slightest problem.

However during our last move I “lost” my Infidel. I bought another and drive on, figuring I left it in a drawer or something.

Fast forward a year and a half, and I find it’s been sitting in a box in the garage! Happy day!

...except something seems to be wrong with the internals. The blade often fails to lock on opening. It takes a wrist flick to completely get it open and locked. There’s no evidence of rust anywhere I can see.

I don’t know from knives, so will I cause any problems squiring some Hopes or CLP inside?

Is it something I can take apart without parts flying everywhere? Would there be any point in doing so?

I’m thinking about calling Benchmade and seeing if I can send it in (they cost as much as a duty sidearm, I’m not just tossing it).

Ideas?
