    14.5 mid length BCM build

    20201222_184607.jpg

    BCM upper receiver group:
    BCM bolt carrier group
Enhanced light weight BFH 14.5 barrel
    Pinned Surefire Warcomp closed time
    Magpul pro sights
    BCM mod3 vfg

    BCM lower receiver:
    SOLGW parts kit
    Geissele SSA trigger
    BCM mod3 grip
    Vltor buffer tube
    A5H2 buffer
    Magpul SL stock

    Other items:
    Trijicon MRO
    Reptilia lower 1/3 mount
    Modlite 18650 w/ plhv2 head
    Arisaka mount
Surefire SR07 tape switch (soon to be Unity hot button)

This is my HD/SHTF/training/patrol rifle. If I'm not carrying this daily at work it's always ready to go. Same rifle I carried during callouts when I was on the response team. It's been through several training courses ranging from 5-300 yards and abused without a hiccup. This thing is light and accurate and made me a BCM fan.

BCMs 14.5 middies are legendary shooters. I have 2. The ELW with BCM comp is both the Lightest AND smoothest/fastest shooting AR I've ever ran.

Same here I love mine. It's made me want to find a reason to sell my 11.5 upper and replace it with another elw.

I love how clean this build is. I've had trouble with 14.5 mid lengths but your post makes me want to try again

What other setups have you attempted before? This combo has been the softest shooter I've owned or ran.

I had a criterion 14.5 with midlength gas system (a cut down 16" done by adco), BCM BCG, standard carbine buffer, and sprinco white spring. I had failures to feed it wouldn't lock open. It just wouldn't run unless I put a lightweight BCG in it.

Since I emphasize parts standardization among all my stuff, having to use a lightweight bcg was a dealbreaker. I really try to keep the 7.5" of barrel after the gas port now because it soured my experience so much.

I have two BCMs 14.5" middies, one ELW BFH with a MCMR-13 and other with a standard LW FSP w/ Centurion C4 MLok. Both are great guns.

Is this with full power ammo? None of my 14.5 mids will lock back with tula or wolf if I'm using a sprinco spring. If I use a standard buffer spring it locks back every time.
