Guns on the other is really weird. From what I see, there are guns are being built continuously. For example, you can pick up P365. Just get email alert and you can buy one. S&W M&P are available at a lot of online retailers. Certain models, you can find. H&K VP9...available. P30S or L..rare as hens tooth.

I think I am going to cull my herd accordingly based on what demands are....pick up what I want. YMMV.

I did this early on in the panic. I parted company with quite a few guns that were "meh" but nevertheless in demand and replaced them with a smaller number of really nice pieces. There was less demand early on for the high end stuff and it was actually fairly easy to buy. Then there was NOTHING, no bottom, no middle, no upper level models available at all. Glad I made the "switch" when I did. Turned some of those into Thermal, Night Vision, Body Armor etc....which was also still pretty easy to find early on.....Timing always important.

If you want an import better get it now. One stroke of a pen by Biden with an EO and imports are gone.

My guess; shotguns far less a 'controversial' item slated to appear on the chopping block of any impending bills, and also people have cottoned to the fact that rifles are what's needed for fightin' times...
Although "the good shit" buck/slug ammo seems to be going for just as insane prices as anything else.

That and I recall the discussion during the Sandy Hook shortages that ammo manufacturers weren't concentrating on rimfire ammo like they were with more "in demand" calibers.

Read "in demand" as being ammo they can get a lot more money for.

Yessir. My Ak itch has long been scratched- back in the $269 Poly Tech Underfolder days.....As of last month, you could still by x39, Wolf at less than $350 a case shipped to your door. It sold out quickly but it was available. I bought a fair amount to top off old stores, that round will truly suffer from an import ban.....Not much else in the way of imports that interests me anymore.

Stopped by an LGS today. Only ammo in stock in high quantities was 454 Casull and 32 S&W long. At least I own a 32 S&W.

Around here there’s been empty shelves at the big retailers for almost a year. Reloading components have been nonexistent. It could be years before the supply chain catches up.

I had a decent source on powder until late summer, then showed up one day and the shelf was bare just like every other shelf around here since may. The obummer days weren’t this bad on panic buying. You could still get stuff then, just might have to look around. You can’t find anything as far as powder or primers anywhere.

I don't see "normal" coming back other than briefly... and "normal" doesn't mean the 2017 Buyers' Market where everybody had prepared to surge anticipating a Hillary panic that never came and had to sell off at fire-sale.

Who owns most gun/ammo companies? Wall Street hedge funds.
Who owns Wall Street? Mostly left-wing billionaires.
Who do those billionaires financially support? Left-wing gun-grabber Dems.
What do Dems ALWAYS try to do when they take office? Grab guns.
What happens when there's even a RUMOR however unfounded of a new ban? Mass panic.
What do panicking gunnies do? Pick the shelves bare.
What happens when shelves are bare? Orders are placed at higher prices with the mnufacturers.

And this is how you build a Perpetual Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone... one that's a guaranteed income stream for Dems.

USMC veteran friend I shoot with sometimes is hitting me up for ammo. He owns > 200 C & R rifles of every caliber you can imagine but next to no ammo. “Can you spare a case of 7.62 x 39?” he asks yesterday.

When I said sure and priced at market he quickly turned me down, “7.62 is too rich for my blood! Thanks anyway,” he said. “I’ll buy again when the panic is over and prices are reasonable again.”

    Ummm ... okay.
