I read his comments....some of the worst rationalizing I've ever witnessed. His conscience is very much broken, he shot and killed an unarmed person, without a credible deadly threat. If it was any of us, we'd all swing.

Let's see how any of you men would react when a woman, over 5 feet tall, is climbing through a window near you, defying you and your armed cohorts who are surrounding her on all sides. What else could one possibly even contemplate except deadly force? What else could you do? Push her back through the window? Grab her and detain her? C'mon, what are you, an MMA master ninja?

Listened to someone say how the news reports on Ashli Babbitt start with her bio, trump supporter, reads Qanon, etc. He mentioned how it was taboo to bring up the past in prior issues like with Saint Floyd. Bringing up his violent criminal past was off the table, completely out of the question...the double standards the woke left force onto the rest of us are just obnoxious.

I thought that was not capital police but similar to SS specific to Congress and such.

Had the person been anti orange guy and it was an ANTIFA event, her getting shot in the neck would have resulted in epic media coverage and investigations, etc, even if he did have the legal authority to take the shot.

I'd like to know what the ROE is on that, and is it public? "Anyone breaches that door and is now within X distance of a member of Congress, lethal force is authorized" kinda thing?

No less lethal options? Thoughts on barracing the door with something should usual security fail? It's not like they didn't have warning.

Capitol Police Officer Lt. Michael Byrd shot and killed Ashli Babbitt, an unarmed, middle-aged, 130-pound Trump follower on January 6.
Byrd was exonerated, twice, for killing Babbitt. In his interview with mega-toady Lester Holt, Byrd claims Ashli Babbitt posed a lethal threat to members of Congress. “She was posing a threat to the United States House of Representatives.”
Predictably, Holt mentioned racism when discussing the threats Byrd has received. He also called Babbitt a “QAnon follower,” which is libspeak for “crazy, racist conspiracy-theorist Trumpster.”

In the video, Byrd defended his decision to shoot through a barricaded door and into Babbitt’s neck. Lester Holt doesn’t mention that the video shows at least two, and maybe more, Capitol cops holding semi-automatic rifles on the same side of the door as Babbitt and didn’t feel the need to shoot her.

At one point, Holt asks Byrd if he had heard a report of “shots fired” that day. Byrd claims he did, yet an investigation into the events of Jan. 6 determined that no shots had been fired.
