This may be an odd response considering that I'm still among the young'uns among this group...
I prioritize who I work with, and whether I'd do business there above everything else.
Ability to prioritize family when needed is the other one - it is a culture thing.
I do feel like end mission goal matters too - I want to explain to my kids what I'm doing, and even if they choose something totally different, they understand why I spent a decade doing a project.
I know what I'm worth, and I can take care of the upward mobility myself, as a workaround for stability, I'm in a job field that isn't going away.
The money is completely secondary, practically if I'm doing anything that is worth putting my time and effort into for more than 4 hours a day during the week, I know I can get by.
