Space Command HQ to be in Alabama. Paging Mr. Foxworthy!

Not to disparage Alabama, but come on! This ball is teed up, somebody needs to knock it out of the park.

Given the history of Redstone Arsenal and everything currently operating there, it actually is a logical choice.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Quiet you! Never let reality, logic, or common sense get in the way of a good joke.

Huntsville is pretty proud of their contributions to the space program from what I've heard.

    WE ARE INDEED.
I have to pass by the Space & Rocket Center twice daily. Its a gorgeous sight & a VERY educational place to go to, kid or adult.
Redstone has grown TREMENDOUSLY the past two years or so. Accordingly, rents are going sky high too.
I have friends who are literally rocket scientists...its a great place for the HQ.
Sorry- I dont/didnt get the joke.

Makes absolutely no sense when Peterson AFB already has everything right there.

In January 2021, it was announced that Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama was the preferred final location for U.S. Space Command. The other locations in contention were Kirtland Air Force Base, Offutt Air Force Base, Joint Base San Antonio, its interim location at Peterson Air Force Base, and Patrick Space Force Base.

Understand, but why even consider moving it and spending God only knows how much money to do so?
