    Remove Lead from Compensator

I put a BCM comp on a 22 lr upper and fired 1000s of rounds through it. This deposited an amazing amount of lead and fowling in the comp. Is there a fairly simple way to remove it?

Soak it in clr overnight. Soda blaster works as well.

Is Clr likely to damage the finish?

It's more than likely the fouling is a combination of lead shavings and wax bullet lube. If it were mine I would screw it on a 556 gun and run a couple of magazines through it. I'll bet most of it would blow out.
