Flip on your radio. Listen to Limbaugh and Hannity. Listen to the ads. What is advertised? Remedies for old people's health problems, real or imagined: erectile disfunction. Low testosterone. Sore feet. LASIK surgery. A jellyfish extract said to boost fading power of memory (I'm not making that up). Also retirement financial advice, and intervention with the IRS. Old people's problems.

Most of the ads are directed at the old, and none are directed at youth, absolutely none

This jibes with what I noted at Insurrection Day. The video is full of gray beards. Of the 230 or so arrested, the average age is 40. This is in sharp contrast to typical revolutionary movements the world over in which youth are the vanguard. It was truly an old man's revolt.

Trumpism, conservativism, QAnon, may be phenomena that the USA will simply outgrow.
    Lmao! Still on insurrection?

Why weren't the Puerto Ricon separatist counted as insurrectionists?

    Or the bombing in 1983

Or the 1998 armed assault that killed two capital police officers. And this is only 3 of the recent "insurrections" in the last 70 years. This doesn't count the bonus army or other bombings by disgruntled people

Because they need to be pardoned when we make Puerto Rico the 51st State. That way Puerto Rican children can learn about them in school as "Heroes of the oppressed".

Can't have an odd number of stars on the map, PR will never be a state until we have a second candidate as well. Maybe we do need a North and South California.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

    Chuck, we miss ya man.

Just read an article that quoted the following acts in congress:
In 1858, a brawl erupted on the House floor among 30 congressmen.

In 1915, Erich Muenter exploded a bomb in an empty Senate chamber to protest American support of the Allies in World War I.

In 1954, Puerto Rican nationalists entered the House chamber and opened fire on congressmen, injuring five.

In 1971, the Weather Underground set off a bomb in a Senate men’s room to protest the bombing of Laos during the Vietnam War.

In 1983, the “Resistance Conspiracy” set off a bomb in a Senate building corridor to protest U.S. actions in Grenada and Lebanon.

In 1998, two Capitol police officers were killed by a gunman.

Of course, after listing all those, the article goes on to state “Unless we choose to include the British army’s attack of 1814, Wednesday’s assault was the most destructive attack in the building’s history,” regarding the most recent event.
