Two FBI agents dead, multiple injured

UNRISE — Two FBI agents were shot and killed, a suspect is dead, and three others were injured early Tuesday morning while serving a warrant in a residential neighborhood in Sunrise, the agency confirmed.

The shooting happened about 6 a.m. at a complex called Reflections, where the suspected shooter had barricaded himself inside a residence located at 10100 Reflections Boulevard West, between North Nob Hill Road and Hiatus Road.

The suspected shooter is now dead, according to an FBI spokesman. No names were released.

The warrant was related to a child pornography case being investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by federal prosecutors in Fort Lauderdale, sources confirmed to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Paramedics were called to the scene to attend to the wounded, and Fort Lauderdale police sent a small SWAT contingency team to Sunrise to assist with the situation, said Fort Lauderdale police spokesperson Casey Liening.

“The scene is safe,” the Sunrise Police Department said in a tweet shortly after 9 a.m. No further information was provided that pertained to the incident, though traffic woes may ease sooner rather than later.

That happened to my neighbor in a shady sting op where spam like emails were sent to IP addresses at addresses that belonged to sex offenders. The man who lived there before he bought the house was convicted a long time ago. When they took his PC it had files and they used the pictures they took of their babies in the bathtub as evidence. Total scam. They charged him with three felonies but offered a plea down to a misdemeanor and labeled my neighbor as an offender.
