It shoots damn fine, it is just vanity that wonders if it should change colors I just can't stand the FDE lower and wonder if it is worth the effort to fix it

Do you also get really upset if the grip color of your hammer doesn’t match the handle?

Not so much, just the big stuff, couldn't give two mouse nuts what the trigger color is

Thinking that is what I will do. Paint fumes or cerekote fumes...

Stripped it, now to anodize it

I ran into this “problem” years ago. I did a paint job on a rifle I put together only to then turn around and part with the upper in a trade. A short while later I bought another upper to place back on the lower. I then had a black upper with a homemade woods camo patterned lower.
Ended up stripping the paint off the lower to get it back to its original form.
Ended up hating that, turned around and painted both upper and lower again. I’m proud to say i’ve not messed with it since and that whole fiasco was over five years ago now.

I run an unfinished lower on a black anodized upper with a stainless barrel, I like the contrasting look.
I’d either try some FDE furniture/accents on the upper, or just rattle an the whole thing.
Anodized and Cerakoted the lower. Missed the texture a bit and graphite black isn't quite a match. But it doesn't set off my OCD anymore 20210226_155831.jpg20210303_150639.jpg
