I'm thinking about a shorter overall 7.62x51 bullpup rifle. The only two viable sources I am aware of are the Tavor 7 and Desert Tech MDR-X.

To be honest I have never seen a Tavor 7 in person and even the X95 seems to be in short supply. DT has a bad reputation overall but, their MDR-X looks viable and I can get one for MSRP locally. I might consider a 6.8SPC based bullpup but I'm not aware of any compatible with that brass size.

What are the pro's and con's for one of these over a more classic 5.56 based rifle? I assume most of the extra weight is between the hands and handling qualities are similar. How is muzzle blast?

TIA,
Sid
