What range to zero a CZ Scorpion at?

For the "best" (using that term loosely) trajectory-over-range. I like a POA/POI zero.

    Suggestions?

I was thinking like 25yds? Or does it need to be longer/shorter?

My micro is zeroed at 50y. Reason being, I don’t foresee using it much past that. I can still hit steel at 100y if I aim for the head, which is more than acceptable to me.

Mine is the "full-sized" 7.75" barrel. The extra 3+ inches should give it a little more juice as far as reasonable ranges to expect.

Full length scorp has a barrel a bit shorter than an MP5’s, but I was planning on trying a 25yd zero with mine, then checking it at 100.

Here’s some quick internet searching. I don’t know about the barrel length used to calculate the trajectory, but I’m assuming it’s around 4.5”. With a 50y you’re poa/poi at 10y & 50y, and -8.5” at 100y. And after looking at it, I might try out a 10y zero...

Sight height over bore is important.

The stuff above looks appropriate for a pistol.

Subguns have higher sights and longer barrels.

With 115gr ammo @1300, the 25 yard zero looks good, rising just over an inch and crossing again around 85 yards, dropping 1.7 inches at 100.

While working for HK ITD we recommended a 25 yard zero for the MP5. This provided POA/POI at 25, 2" high at 50, POA/POI at 75 and 2" low at 100. Depending on the sights you use with the Evo (IE: height over bore) you will get a very similar result. I use the 25 yd zero for my Evo and have no issues at all making 100 yard hits.

No matter what zero you decide on you will need to get out and shoot it to verify your results with your gun/sight/ammo combo.

    For my AR9 with a 8” barrel (different gun but 9mm) I prefer a 25 yards zero.
