Would you build on this barrel?

Got a free Spike’s CHF barrel made by FN.
    But there’s a caveat...
Take a look at the chip on the locking lug next to the right feed ramp.

What would be the purpose of the build?

Is that rust or is it grease on the barrel extension or what? Hard to tell in the pic.

Clean it up build it and shoot it. I am pretty certain it will be fine. It ain't like you are out much if it sucks. If you are still doubtful, pm me and I'll send you the cash to ship it. I'll shoot it.

The chip is almost certainly not an issue. Very, very slight chance that it is enough of a stress riser to weaken that lug. Keep an eye on it and shoot the barrel out. I wouldn't preemptively change the extension, I don't think it's worth the bother.

    Yes I would.

If the chip were on the chamber side, I wouldn’t.

Do you happen to know how that even happened? Not seen that before.
