Found a Sig 522 in the back of one of my safes. Help with valuation.

I found a Sig 522 that I didn't know I had, it was hiding from me in the very back of one of my gun safes. I have no use for it, so I'm going to list it for sale. I cannot find what value to place on it, because I don't see any for sale anywhere. Can anyone help me put a reasonable value on it. I'd appreciate it. The stock pad is disintegrating so I'll have to contact Sig about a replacement.

Sadly it's basically another Umarex toy with a licensed name. Put it on GB with a $1 start.

I initially read it as 552 instead of 522 and was thinking who in the world wouldn't remember that they had a Sig 552. 522, I understand.

The Sig 556 series and its various spin-offs kind of remind me of all those dudes Stalin had retroactively edited out of photographs.

Boy ain't that the truth. I had a couple of the 556's and they all ran very well. They were good rifles. Then Sig just canceled them, bye....Kinda soured me on anything with the SIG name next to it.

I still have a 522 and honestly, I like it. It's a decent little "military style" rifle, mine runs well, not ammo sensitive etc...I've used it many times to work with new shooters. Now, I like my MP15's better but the Sig is a decent little rifle.
The truth can only offend those who live a lie.

I have a Classic and a Classic SBR. Both run great as well. My only complaints are that they're over gassed and front heavy. The same can be said for their Swiss cousins. The machining isn't as nice as my Swiss made guns, but the price was much better. I've literally not purchased Sig rifles because they cut off production of all Sig556 parts. I'm not taking any chances. At the least they could have licensed production rights to someone in the US.

    Never really had that problem.

    PE90, 551, 552. Even running a 551 with a can wasn't an issue.

It’s not Umarex. The 522 was actually well done. I wish I’d purchased one when they were in production.

I guess it might depend on what you're definition of over gassed is. I'd define it as cycling significantly more gas than is necessary to reliably cycle the firearm. The 55X's and most AK's certainly fall in to this category. All of my 55X rifles are over gassed, even on the lowest setting while shooting the weakest Russian ammunition. I can kind of understand why they do that given that they want weak frozen ammunition to cycle reliably, but it would be nice if they offered drill your own gas valves.
