Found a Sig 522 in the back of one of my safes. Help with valuation.

I guess it might depend on what you're definition of over gassed is. I'd define it as cycling significantly more gas than is necessary to reliably cycle the firearm. The 55X's and most AK's certainly fall in to this category. All of my 55X rifles are over gassed, even on the lowest setting while shooting the weakest Russian ammunition. I can kind of understand why they do that given that they want weak frozen ammunition to cycle reliably, but it would be nice if they offered drill your own gas valves.

That could be the problem. Shooting Federal 55 gr. is not problem. I have a few AKs that are over gassed, I know of what you speak. But my SIGs don't do it.

It’s not Umarex. The 522 was actually well done. I wish I’d purchased one when they were in production.

Does it have an actual .22 barrel or is it a barrel tube in a shroud that looks like a barrel?

So far all of the .22 copies I've seen are barrel tubes in airsoft bodies, if an exception exists I'll acknowledge it.

It has a real, steel barrel. The gun was actually made by Sig as a companion to its 556 series. They are good rifles. None of the "cool kids" will admit it but I bought mine after watching a Nutnfancy video 10 years ago-he had a really good review on them.....
