    Mini-14 RDS?

The Burris FF3 is often recommended, but I'd like something with long battery life or "shake awake" feature.

Probably just going to use the included over-action rail with brass cut-out.

The UltiMAK would certainly be lower, but it adds weight up front.

Honestly if someone made a very large aperture that fit the factory block I'd probably give it a try.

    Mine is a 584 series.

RDS doesn't have to war-ready, but I dont want junk, either.

Having to push a button to turn on your sight is completely unacceptable and always has been IMO.

Then any of the Holosun red dots would work. If you really want low mounting and light the 407c would be perfect

I think Tech Sights makes sights and apertures for your model.

XS Sights might make them now or has made in the past.

There is also drilling out the aperture to a size you like.
