    I want a Mp-44

    Hey guys,

I think I can sell a car and a few things and swing the cash (or most of it) for an MP44. Anybody got tips on where to get one? What to look out for? I want a functional gun but I have no intention of putting an aim point on it and running it through a few classes. Just something in working order. I am looking at one that is a rewatt but they want 37k. I really don't care If it is a rewatt but I do want to get the best example availible (although I am not looking to pay 40+

Probably know this but just in case, a Stg marked example vs. a MP marked example will be more common and a bit more affordable. Subguns.com used to be the "go to" place to find this sort of thing.

I brought back a case of 8mmkurz back in 1996 or so that was East German made.

Also brought back boatloads of preban sig , HK, glock, and Beretta mags with no issues in my suitcase.

The stupid customs beagle only cared about my Hungarian sausages and salami I brought back.

Having owned one...check with the normal bigwig dealers like Mendiola and others...

Springs need to be watched also as mines took a set and I had to get creative in finding parts.
Wolff has springs now and also their are people making parts for it now including brand new wood and other mickey mouse parts.

    Magazine springs are another issue.

PPU and Fiochi make great ammo for it now and also reloadable.

My old one was an Amnesty registered bring back and my uncle's other one was a rewatt both are 44s.

They are fun guns to shoot but in my mind...I had to be put at ease in shooting it when I had a good supply of it.

I believe in peace, love and extremely violent weapons systems... just in case that whole peace-and-love thing doesn't work out.

And all I really want is a transferable legit Mp43/44STG. I don't care if it is a reweld or whatever. It doesn't have to be taken off a Dead SS guy at Bastongne.

I don't particularly care if it has to be worked on. I had an UZI I sent to BWE and it took a year. Now that I am old, the prospect of time doesn't really matter.

I do have a couple of leads. Fortunately the Internet price on these things are usually inflated. One guy who wanted way over market for a rewatt started cutting like crazy right out of the gate. But he then started wanting to circumvent the auction and taxes and calling all his competitors crooks so I started worrying.

Oh believe me, I will make up that story when I hand it down to my grandkids. "But grandad...weren't you born in 1973??"

Actually it would be dang 1968 Gun Control Act because that is the one that banned transferable "foreign" machine guns. This is why we aren't swimming in WWII bring backs like we should be.

Find authentic mags and buy a couple , usually $300 each. They work better than the repro mags.
Don’t load more than 25 rounds.
Buy the 8 mm Kurtz Ammo now if you can find it, Privi was making it.
Good luck to you in your search finding a rifle.

I've never run across a 44, but I've seen a number of bring backs that the GI in question didn't register when the law changed. A widow was gonna GIVE me an MG-34 that had belonged to her vet hubby. I oughta go back and kick myself for passing on it.
Go Ukraine! Piss on the Russian dead.
