There was a recent auction that had one marked MP-44.

I am looking at one that is a rewatt but they want 37k. I really don't care If it is a rewatt but I do want to get the best example availible (although I am not looking to pay 40+
I remember back in '07 when I was in North Africa. I found a MP44 in an old Legion arms room (taken over by the current Military there). It was still packed in cosmoline (or the German equivalent) It was cherry...... no mags or ammo......but it was nice. There was also a MG34 and a MG42 that were in great shape. That arms room was like a blast from the past.... the back part was untouched. if they didn't have mags or ammo for it they simple left it alone. All of the non-ComBlock weapons were unwanted as they could't get ammo for them.

I had so much fun. That place was awesome.
In no way do I make any money from anyone related to the firearms industry.

I was in Egypt one time and there were tons of air cooled VW buses. I told my guide if we could get these things back to the U.S.A. we could be rich. It’s amazing what’s still out there.

Here's one that was "saved" a few years ago. They say nothing about it being amnesty registered though and as far as I know, full autos couldn't be brought back due to the NFA.

Morphy's Auctions in Denver, PA has two coming up for auction in just under a month. Bids start at $11,000, with an estimated value of $22K-32K.

    Edited to add:

One is an MP-44 and one is an MP-43. I have no idea what the difference is.

Just earlier designations, one a bit more rare than the other.

A lot of them (most?) are Brazilian, and don't bring the premium that German busses do.
