    Question OPTICS RECOMANDATION-BEST VALUE ???

I know every body has there own preferences but I would like some help. I can't decide what optics to use with my new Bushmaster M4. I would like to narrow my options down. I want good all around performance. What is the best bang for the buck. I would prefer not to use batteries but if I need to that is OK. What do you guys and gals think?

    What type of shooting?
    How much shooting?
    How much can you spend?

I work on a Marine base and there are quite a few of us that target shoot and shoot competitively. I use the iron sites for 500 meters. Some of the guys use the A.C.O.N. and it is awesome but I think it is to $$$. I am also a cyclist and like any thing else there is a point where the $$$ out weighs the result. I can spend any amount, but that is not the point. I guess I am back to value, if I can get a optic/scope for $200 that performs almost as good as a $1,400 piece why spend the money. I am looking for value and functionality, not coolness or to keep up with that guy.

    You wont find that.

Are you looking for a magnified optic or a red dot?

Read this thread, it deals with optics that have the most versatility. Some are pricey though.

I would like some magnification. I do like rifle scopes, I have a nice leupold scope on my .308. Also a friend of mine has an Eotech holographic sight and I don't like that at all.

This is a good thread. I actually looked at the talon today it just seems pricey for what it is.

Get a S.P.O.T red dot with a Mako 5x Magnifier. Probably the best bang for the buck and best of all world setup.

    Optic

    Aimpoint C3, ML2 or ML3.

Should not be hard to find one for sale, used in good condition.

Please explain your experience with these sights? Did you use them in one or more reputable carbine classes by Pat Rogers, Larry Vickers, Jeff Gonzales, Kyle Lamb, Louis Awerbuck, Gunsite, etc. to see if they can survive 1500+ rounds in three days or less? Have you ever used them in combat? Have they seen combat use in any zone of combat? Would you trust your life, no more importantly, would you trust the lives of red blooded American men and women with these sights? What makes these two CHICOM sights superior to those made in Europe or the US? So, what makes these sights best value?

Cheaper sure, but many of us would argue your opinion about them being best value.
