Just when you think you've seen it all. I knew about chrome Lugers coming out of WWII motor pools but never really saw a Chrome Garand before. Obviously it's a parade rifle of some kind, do you have any specific history. USMC Honor Guard?
That's should make a pretty nice shooter. Has it been specially adapted to fire blanks (threaded inside the muzzle of the barrel?) or is it basically stock other than the finish and presentation grade furniture?
Oh and $580 for ANY Garand is a steal. They've been north of $1000 every since Band of Brothers. These are very favorable prices, especially considering the CMP became a private entity years ago.
ETA: You realize of course you are gonna need a chrome bayo for it right? Good luck.
