Something extraordinary did happen. The whole world stopped taking care of itself, stopped seeking medical care for existing conditions, and the level of stress... The stress alone is enough to explain those deaths. They literally scared people to death. They were scared of getting the virus, losing their job, losing their house, becoming homeless, and everything else. And how many untimely deaths of despair were there? All those elderly people sequestered away from their loved ones for months on end?
