That general guideline is two weeks between vaccinations (unless it’s combo like MMR). And IIRC, three weeks caused the body to produce a stronger antibody response. It just worked better that way.

Small thread drift, but a very rational science based discussion on ivermectin. My take, ivermectin appears to be the new hydroxychloroquine, lots of interest and suggestive data, needs data specific to covid, may not live up to the hype. Having said that, it has a long clinical use and low side effects, so use it! But, if not using this is tantamount to medical negligence not to use, what do we call not using vite D, C, zinc, and NAC (to name a few easy to make, safe, easy to find supplements with good data...) on everyone to comes into a hospital?

The wife has been using Ivermectin to treat her horses for years. If Ivermectin is effective at treating any serious illness contracted by humans, it should be authorized for use without the usual political mumbo jumbo. The decision to use Ivermectin should be between the doctor and patient, no one else.

Unfortunately doctors became politicians. I don't like X so therefore you can't have Y

Agreed of course, but everything now viewed through a polarized politicized lens.

But...but...but... ORANGE MAN BAD! And how do you expect a senile 79-year-old dementia patient with a history of corruption to defeat Orange Man if cheap and proven drugs do any good whatsoever?

Hey look, here's a published medical paper from June 2020, from the Journal of Antiviral Research, indicating that Ivermectin was promising:

    https://www.sciencedirect.com/scienc...66354220302011

On a related note, the different drug HCQ was also tested and promising, but complete testing was stopped by politics. In my own state, the rabidly anti-Trump (and generally rabid) Whitmer regime managed to stop a serious and large study of HCQ at The Henry Ford Hospital, one of the most respected in the state.

I recognize this is all a veer from the thread focus, but recognizing the massive, enormous political investment in making Covid-19 deadly and precluding some inexpensive and seemingly effective treatments is relevant, in particular to the range of questions around the current vaccines.

But here's the really key point - the exemption (EUA) that all current vaccines are being offered under is ONLY available if there is NO FDA-approved medication, whether vaccine or treatment, for the condition that the EUA is being offered for. Here's the legal citation:

    https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/21/360bbb-3

    U.S. Code Title 21 CHAPTER 9 SUBCHAPTER V Part E § 360bbb–3
21 U.S. Code § 360bbb–3 - Authorization for medical products for use in emergencies

    (c) Criteria for issuance of authorization. The Secretary may issue an authorization under this section with respect to the emergency use of a product only if, after consultation with the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, the Director of the National Institutes of Health, and the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (to the extent feasible and appropriate given the applicable circumstances described in subsection (b)(1)), the Secretary concludes—
    ****
    (3) that there is no adequate, approved, and available alternative to the product for diagnosing, preventing, or treating such disease or condition

Trump was the wort thing to happen to HCQ. Of course Ivermectin is totally unrelated to the orange guy, but if they even think it smells like something he'd recommend, they are against it. Having said that, I dont think its the sole reason for the general rejection. I comes down to the usual reasons, which are $. There is no $ in it do getting support to research it further and use it clinically as SOC for covid (if the data supports it), like aforementioned things like vite D3, zinc, C, NAC, etc, is damn near impossible.

Docs are often caught between a rock and hard place with using such things too.

There are lots of options for relief / treatments along with options for preventative measure...I'm taking low amounts of ivermectin & quinine (tonic water or El Guapo bitters) just for grins. Pretty sure my crew had it last year in march & they are saying a previous mild case has great immunity. I think the key to kicking C19 in the teeth is too start a treatment asap if you think there is a chance you caught it. Unfortunately, a lot of folks died unnecessarily & I think a lot of it has to do with the $$$$ as there is none with the therapeutics mentioned. I would have your dr. take a look at the list as they have been successful in the treatment.

    Ivermectin
    colchicine
    Zpak
    Medrol pak
    Budesonide
    HCQ
    Quinine
    Zinc
    Vit D
