Covid Vaccine Status Thread

Yeah, it's transplant/immunosuppressed patients for now. Mark my words, it'll eventually be the expected norm. Like getting one on a regular basis.

As you've said Will, we won't vaccinate our way out of this. A dual approach of vaccines and finding definitive, reliable ways to TREAT those seriously ill (and not waiting until they are circling the drain to do so) will be the best answer. Right now it's kind of hit or miss.

Mitigate the ROS apparently responsible for the hyper immune response, vs trying to control the hyper immune response with hit or miss results.

I'm 92.7% confident that's the answer.

I'm 100% confident that will be beneficial. Just how beneficial, requires clinical trials.

I have been following Dr Malone on for some time, probably watched 6-8 interviews with him. I went to page above and saw a title
"‘More patients dying from the vaccine than from COVID’" and would normally have just left at that point as that's complete BS.

However, as the author was Dr Malone, I gave it a read. Having said that, it's from a site that is better balanced sci/med based info:

With that said, below is an interview with Dr Malone from the same source ( TrialSite News) and I have some thoughts below on that. It's very easy to take much of what he is saying out of context if one already has a bias and lacks some sci/med background to really parse out the nuances. My issue is, per page you posted and others I see, he's being used like a $2 hooker by anti vax hard liners as "proof" vaccines are dangerous, yada yada, and that's not what he's saying.

A true summary of what he's saying, and I agree and understand it, is: there's some gaps in the research (specifically the fate of spike protein) that need to be answered, side effects of vaccines may be under reported, but the real problem is the suppression of open discussion about that topic. That's truly his main point in all this, and he's right about that aspect. As he says in the article, about suppression of open discourse:

"... play right into the hands of anti-vaxxer memes and validate many of their arguments. The suppression of information, discussion, and outright censorship concerning these current COVID vaccines which are based on gene therapy technologies cast a bad light on the entire vaccine enterprise."*

I think some of his comments are a bit over the top too, but I suspect he's getting frustrated and pushing it to get a response. See also my comments I left below that vid on the YT channel:

Key findings from the study:

Obtaining two vaccine doses remains the most effective way to ensure protection against the COVID-19 Delta variant of concern dominant in the UK today.
With Delta, Pfizer-BioNTech and Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines still offer good protection against new infections, but effectiveness is reduced compared with Alpha.
Two doses of either vaccine still provided at least the same level of protection as having had COVID-19 before through natural infection; people who had been vaccinated after already being infected with COVID-19 had even more protection than vaccinated individuals who had not had COVID-19 before.
However, Delta infections after two vaccine doses had similar peak levels of virus to those in unvaccinated people; with the Alpha variant, peak virus levels in those infected post-vaccination were much lower.

Other findings:

A single dose of the Moderna vaccine has similar or greater effectiveness against the Delta variant as single doses of the other vaccines.

The time between doses does not affect effectiveness in preventing new infections, but younger people have even more protection from vaccination than older people.
