HK USP 45 as a range gun, bedside gun, fun suppressor host in 2021?

Looking to pick up a classic to use as a .45 host. I love my 1911 suppressed, but something different would be fun. My only concern is the age of the platform (support for it going forward?) and how nice of a host it is vs other modern guns in 9 and .45.

I reload .45 so ammo cost isn't an issue.

    Thnaks!

Mods, I have no idea how this ended up in precision rifle... I'm sorry.

I have one and it is fantastic. I don’t see support ending for it in the next 10-15 years. Frankly, the odds of you needing any parts are vanishingly small the thing is a beast. If you pick up a std usp make sure to get the tactical recoils spring assembly
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

Do it, unless you want the upgraded version which is the H&K 45. I would love to have a .45 USP Tactical and a MK23 both with their own KAC cans. Those are bucket list items for me. Too many 90s video games I guess.

Buy it. You will never wear out a USP45. I bought one and liked it so much that I bought a USP45 Tactical LE. They are superb pistols.

Great pistols, I've shot several USP45 Tacticals - all amazingly accurate.

I have a HK45C, which scratches my 45ACP HK-itch and while I have some spare parts, I doubt I'll need to use them.

If I happen to trade / buy the one a family member has it's getting the plate that makes it SAO with safety because that DA trigger is an abomination.

Recoil is probably far tamer in 9mm. I've never fired an HK 9 or .40. The .45 really bounces around.

I was referring to the USP 45 version.

USPs are great pistols, and borderline indestructible. After the apocalypse, the only things left will be roaches and USPs.

    Buy it...You won't be disappointed.

Thanks for all the input guys.

Anyone have a preference for the 9mm over the .45 as a host or in general? I'm a fan of both calibers.

Wish the 9mm used metal mags. Seems like they wasted some room in the magwell with polymer. Was that a German army requirement?

There are many good 9mm pistols, but the USP FS in .45 is in a class by itself.
