Under the hood its all the same s*it.

All the revolutionary stuff is in ammo and accessories or how they interface with the rifle.
Oh, I don't know. If the Swedes can invent those tasty meatballs I'm sure they can make a brilliant rifle design.

"Investigate the possibility of co-operation" doesn't sound like it's a done deal on collaboration with Finland. Just that Sweden has this idea in mind they could work with Finland on the program and maybe save a buck or two per unit.

Regardless, it looks like Sweden is forging ahead with the replacement and I'd tend to think any replacement would look pretty hard at an AR type platform since the variety they are looking for works into that model. But not discounting the possibility of a clean sheet design if they do work with Finland. Maybe based on the ARX family since Sako is already established in Finland and owned by Beretta.
This is indeed interesting as Finland has a largely homogenous population who hates everyone else and doesn't play nice with others.

I was issued a bunch that nobody even wanted back. Their best use will be to sell to suckers for $300 a piece during the next AWB. Its a shitty mag.

Well, they certainly don't play well with the Soviets. I'd dare say they might have fallen into the NATO sphere of influence after WWII had they not had that border with the Soviet Union and had to abide by those surrender terms.

Doesn't matter. I still want a few to go with my G8 drum that never gets used.

Being that it more forcefully goes in and out of battery I’d think it would have a slight edge if it was frozen up.

Yeah, a Sako built SR-25/AR-10. It was mentioned in the OP link I believe, and now coming to fruition.

I hope Finland continues updating their arsenal. If for no other reason than I'd love to see some of their legacy weaponry become available as parts kits. I'd really dig on one of those Sako M95's, just cause.
Go Ukraine! Piss on the Russian dead.
