Every kid from Gen Xers forward doesn't understand what it means to be identified by your job, even in high school, because most of them never came close to having a job much less being dedicated to it to the point it becomes part of your identity. They can't relate to busting your ass to get "the car" and "the girl" and as a result will never arrive at the realization that the girl you think you want isn't what you actually want when you get to know girls.

I can think of too many thirty somethings that could learn a shit ton of life lessons from that movie because they haven't gotten to that level of maturity yet even though most of us figured it out by senior year.
Love your pontification here. I completely relate and totally agree with all points. I was one of those busting my ass and running every side hustle I could find to get the car and the girl. I succeeded. Still doing it, and succeeding, to this day!

Some subtle irony in that song selection. Pretty Sneaky, Sis.

Maybe/maybe not.. "Kitaen's death was ruled natural and was attributed to dilated cardiomyopathy. Other contributing factors were mild coronary atherosclerosis, and she had mirtazapine, an antidepressant; mirtazapine metabolite; alprazolam, an anti-anxiety drug; as well as painkillers acetaminophen, pregabalin and hydrocodone in her system"
