Why do all the 6920 Colts I have seen use a H buffer in their Carbine length gas systems?

    Because M4s have H buffers. A1s have H2s as I understand it.

My 6720 has an H2 from SAW (dunno if they are using the stock port). My 11" small port (.063") suppressed upper has an H3 and my 17" .093 rifle gas upper has an A5. They all run though with PMC the 17" is sluggish. Screwing the M4S on changes that.

The 17" rifle gas interests me greatly.

Tell me how smooth it runs.

Also, did Wes at MSTN have anything to do with it? I know he's been a pioneer in using the Rifle gas system on the 17" barrel length.

At one time I wouldn't have believed it would work right. It really should have a slightly bigger port. I haven't tried it in the cold. I left it small port as its a full time host to the M4S. It can be noticeably sluggish when dirty and using PMC.

It's a cut down FN M16A2 barrel. Next time I'll cut it at 16" and loc tire an AAC Ranger 3 on.
