When I said work stuff I didn’t mean manual labor/leather work boot stuff. I like wearing a shoe that I can run, hike, shoot and fight in. Been using Salomons the past few years but I’m tired of the heal cups wearing out. I don’t automatically assume if a SEAL (or anyone else) is using it that it’s a good piece of kit but the dudes at that level are usually very serious about gear. If I get a chance to let someone else beta test for me I will. Chucks and the Altima OTBs are used a lot when finning.

The OTBs used to be really inexpensive back in the day. Someone bought them, New balance maybe? I don't remember, then the price took off.

When we were finning and I did not have to do anything past the sandy berms/dunes, I would use Chuck Taylors. I think they were $18 a pair?

But that was back in the day when the best game in town was still standard issue jungle boots.

Same here, that was about the coolest pattern there was after Desert Storm. They occasionally issued it out as an OPFOR uniform on Ft.Bragg in the later 90s (typically it was inside-out BDUs)

Not those OTBs (but yes those were awesome until New Balance bought them and ruined them and then cut the brand). Google the Altima OTBs, think tactical Chucks.
