Well, not sure it qualifies as "denying reality" but the Dems did a number today with the indictment as it became the big shiny thing that everyone's looking at while everything else slips off the radar: their reality became that this little, nothing of a "crime" is the most important issue of our time. Seeing a little bit of undeniable reality today as I saw that Alameda PD in California offering a $75K signing bonus trying to lure officers to the department. Guess the "defund the police" movement does have consequences...gee, who knew?

Way I see it, I say go ahead and keep defunding, at least around here, they're not allowed to do their jobs to the fullest anyway.....the **** do we need 'em for? It's all become a big joke.

Yep, either let 'em do their jobs or go all the way back to Jungle Law, where at least it's clear that everyone's on their own. I know Walmart's had to close at least one store here due to rampant theft making it uninsurable, and at least one of the Targets I've dealt with is top-ten-worst in the country (IIRC my manager friend told me #1 worst) for rate of theft which leaves me wondering why Corporate continues to eat the losses...

Corporate simply can't sustain those losses. Lots of WalMarts going out of business in urban area's. They simply couldnt sustain the losses and quit putting new items on shelves until they "Sold Out" and locked the doors.
Small business live on a much thinner margin, a diner may absorb a "Dine and Dash" or two, what they cant sustain is the copper being stripped from the place, being looted or arson. All it takes is one "Ooops" and someones dream is ashes.
Boutique Guitar Shops now require an appointment to enter, it's gotten that bad.

This is all about District Attorney's.
