That's one of the coolest things I have seen in a while.

Down in a hole like that wouldn't the water stay on the cold side, being the the shade all the time.

These guys found their niche with this channel. I saw them a few months ago making an undergorund cave pool, complete with water slide. They even took the time to make little candle sconces and benches to rest on during what I suspect is the hottest time of the day in SE Asia (Cambodia, I think). Pretty cool what a bit of ingenuity and work ethic can accomplish with basic tools and a clear build plan.

So first of "Geeze guys, build a wheelbarrow, you can probably finish in 30 days.

Second, you need some seriously cooperative soil to pull of that kind of stuff.

Third, I guess now we understand how people of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia were able to construct MASSIVE underground complexes.

Fourth, I want to see how you keep that water fresh without a filtration system of any kind. I want to see the water 60 days later.

And finally, I imagine if all you own are a pair of black pants and some basic hand tools, that is probably "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" living. That's also evidence of why we didn't need UFO's to help us build pyramids. We just needed 500 of "those guys."

Love those guys. The complete lack of dialogue is very Zen.

Actually ordered one of those axes from a garden tool company. They forge it themselves.

It’s hung on a long handle for loping branches, but I think I’ll cut the handle down to make it a fair bit handier.

Zero need for it, but it’s a great hand-made blade.

All I could think of was all the snakes and creepy crawlies that would be in that water the next time you came back.

It must be an Asian trait.....they dig like ants! Think about it: first the Japanese, then the ChiComs in Korea, then SE Asia. Bunkers, tunnels, FTW! And then live in that shit (out of necessity I suppose).
