    SIG SP2022

Considering all the handguns in SIG's lineup, the SP2022 seems to be one that's "under the radar". It's in SIG's 2021 catalog, although the FDE version seems to have been dropped. User reviews are generally positive, and I think it's one of SIG's least pricey guns.

Is the 2022 a candidate for being discontinued, or will SIG keep it around for a while?

I thought it was discontinued. I could never find any grip modules when I had mine.

That might depend on how many police/miltary contracts for the 2022 Sig has. I think it's a best buy in DA/SA pistols myself and wonder why Sig doesn't sell more of them.

I bought one years and years ago for just over $300 with 3 mags at a gunshow in TX. There were TONS of them there with prices from $300-400 all with 3 mags. Tack driver, yet uninspiring compared to my W German guns. Let it go for about $300 towards something else a few years back along with my FN FNX and a few other excellent yet uninspiring guns.

Same story. Bought it years ago used for about $300. Great gun, loved the trigger, accurate but I hated the grip module it came with and couldn't find another. Eventually I traded it towards a G17.5 right before the lockdowns and panic buying started

Stolen from Wiki:"The design was selected in 2002 as a new service pistol for French police, intended to have a 20-year service life (until 2022), hence the model number."
    So its most likely discontinued.

Could very well be discontinued, but it shows up in SIG's latest catalog. Maybe a last gasp?

Never been a fan of SIGS, had a few on/off over the course of a few years, only one I liked was the P239, go figure.

It’s not discontinued. The SP2022 is probably one of SIG Sauer’s best products, ever.

Sort of a simplified design compared to the classic 226, 228 series. I remember Ken Hackathorn having positive things to say about it. The grip fits my hand better than the 226
