    You did better than just that. Now you have a match grade barrel that is threaded and a comp!

    The 'fun factor' went way up for me when I got my first comped 1911. Went up again when I learned how to reload for a comp and help it work even better.

    Actually, the barrel is not threaded, and the comp acts as the barrel bushing, it is attached to the slide.
    It’s still pretty cool though.

    I said the 1911 PISTOLS, quality improved after bought by KAHR.

    That has nothing to do with, M1 Carbines, made by the original company.

    KAHR is building both. There are still issues with the carbines. I haven't repaired one of their 1911's since KAHR purchased the company.

    If I were looking for a budget 1911, a Springfield Range Officer would be my first choice.

    I have a Range Officer chambered in 9mm and it's a decent pistol. My only issue with it is that the leade in the barrel is cut a little long.
