    Flat-nosed .451 FMJ 185-200 gr bullets?

Who else makes them besides Speer?

Anyone seen them for sale recently? If so please PM. 😁

I might pick up reloading .45 GAP and would like to have this style of bullet as an option. But if not available now there are a few sources of this style in bare lead or coated.

I believe that Hornady made some in their HAP line. Sierra also makes a 200 grain flat point target bullet

Any particular reason for a flat-nose vice something else?

155 and 160 hard-cast semi-wadcutters are both accurate and lethal.

All the factory ammo I've seen is either FN or JHP and they feed fine so I wouldn't want to buy SWC and assume the risk of the gun choking on them.

I need to take the G39 out one more time before I buy dies and bullets.

Not only to collect cases but also to be sure it doesn't throw them in my face.

I've shot thousands of SWC bullets in .40 through my various Glocks, and they just eat them up...

You might try a small sample to start...

Good advice on small sample test first.

Your Glock should function fine with cast lead SWC. I have got in to casting/powder coating and the Lee 200gr SWC tumble lube has worked well for me, although I assume the 200gr H&G copy they make would as well.

Never figured out why, but some Fiocchi 200gr FMJ SWC I picked up about 20 years ago would choke the 1911 I had at the time while it would run through my reloads (using 200gr LSWC I was buying off a fellow in Alabama) without any problems. Bullet profiles were nearly identical so no idea what the difference was.

I ran into a similar issue while playing around in the "45 Science" thread.

I was pushing 160 grain RFN to 1100 in a G21. Same load would cause a stoppage in a 1911. Wasn't surprised because there isn't a whole lot of projectile profile to aid in chambering.

I was shooting up some of the lower velocity testing loads (around 1000 fps) and figured I would get some failure drills in by running the 1911 with them.

Problem is, they worked. No failures. I now load those for plinking as a way to stretch components.

I've come to the conclusion that it was a combo of slide velocity due to hotter loading and projectile profile causing the issue.

New Glock 30 gen 4 and used FHP G39 laughed as they pelted me with casings.

The new Gen 4 was really bad. The G39 also had a failure to extract a fired case and tried to feed another round behind it on its second trip out.

All factory ammo, about 100 from the G30, maybe 200 from the G39. (S&B, Lawman, Gold Dot)

I will never buy another Glock with the possible exception of a Gen V.

Needless to say, no reloading .45 anything at this time, thanks.
