    Unexpected Knife almost Done

This was an unexpected knife for me. I had a customer just receive a knife and was telling me what he was looking for. He said, I want something 5" overall, with a thick spine so I can really push on it without it digging into my finger. I started laughing....took a cell phone shot of the 2 year old profiled knife / scrap of curly walnut he wanted. Sent the picture and a month later I am finishing it up for him. Funny how things work out sometimes

Now she just needs a logo, sheath, and sharpened. Thought you guys might dig this since its a little different

Steel is 0-1, handle is Curley Walnut.

I like it! But I'd prefer G10 panels.

The thickness of that and it's size makes it look like a very good hunting/field dressing knife.

What type of edge angle do you use on a knife like that?

For a field dressing knife I like at least a 3 1/2" blade. This whole knife is 5" from tip to butt. Ill have to get a picture of this next to the other patterns for a size reference.

I just sharpen freehand on the grinder in slow speed but its about 25 degrees. Seems to work well for the guys I have made them for. thanks for the comments fellas.

    Nice blade!

I like O-1. I have a nice little pocket skinner made with that steel. It holds a nice edge.
