I like the pair of TD Neptune shorts I have but order small because they seem to run big.

The newer higher end 5.11 shorts are much higher quality and exceptionally versatile and not too cargo-ey. I have been wearing them for years after going thru various other Vertex, Carhartt, Magpul, and others.

My True-Specs hold up, even to pocket carry in the summer.

I see no reason why the shorts aren't just as good.

My business partner is French, so he isn't really metrosexual since the french are just different.

I called him metrosexual and he got upset with me. So then I called him 50%. He asked me what is this 50%? I told him it means that your 50% homo, but you love women. Which really made him mad.

I like wearing good suits when I have to wear a suit. But if I can wear jeans combined with Solomon boots or running shoes. and a extremely nice button up shirt and a very nice watch, this makes me happy. Solomon boots or shoes are the only brand I can wear pain free as I once had some metal enter my foot without my permission.

Got a couple pairs of these a few weeks ago(no long term experience) due to being very similar in layout and feel to Duluth Flex Firehose pants I have.

I'm 6'1"-ish and normally wear 12-13" inseam shorts. If you need something longer that goes down to the knee or are comfortable with something that rides just below it, the Eddie Bauer Guide Pro Shorts are awesome. I have 5 pair and my oldest are two years old. No issues of any kind other than reattaching a button that I snagged on a stick and ripped off. I've worn them to the gym regularly, taken two carbine classes, a few hundred miles of hiking and walking, and general running around during the spring/summer/fall while carrying my M&P 15rd compact. Buy one size up if you don't like skinny shorts though. I normally wear 34x35s in long pants, and 34W shorts on me fit "athletic."

Those are similar to the Prana and Beyond shorts I posted earlier, and a good option. They can also be had at end of season or in outlets for 30-60% off.
