IME all (5.56) suppressors get hot fast. Can't imagine volume making a significant difference in how fast they heat up. There just isn't much mass there to absorb the heat so the thin body heats up fast.
That’s a training issue. Those concerns should be squared away before shtf anyway. That’s why I’ve always put the ir furthest forward and I’ve even started taking off flip up front sights too because I already have two aiming methods and I don’t want any reflection issues at all.
