Ad to think some "pro-gun" forums take offense to such posts... not so much the PITA part as the comparison to their spiritual forebears, refusing to take into account that as a professional historian when I make such comparisons it is not hyperbole or rhetoric but deliberate comparisons between regimes, their officials and patterns of behavior thereof.

It's not the ignorant of history dooming themselves to repeat it that's the problem, it's them forcing us to stay on the bound-for-wreck runaway train with them. If we could safely get off and let them do their thing by themselves, the problem would swiftly solve itself...

I wish. Technically this ruling does nothing since it only effects Maxim Defense existing customers and FPC members. You still can’t buy a braces pistol, even from Maxim.

The abysmal quality of most history instruction doesn't help either. Stuffy, droning, dull pedagogues who come off as only marginally less lifeless than the people they discuss, damping the fires of any who enter their classroom door. Good ones try to "make the past come alive," get you to imagine what it was like to march a mile in another man's combat boots. MY classroom, you'd be finding yourself wearing full WWII gear holding an (unloaded) Garand in your hands as I ask you to imagine being on a tiny boat on a cold, dark, nasty June morning making your way to Normandy, hearing the German MG42 rounds slamming into the ramp right in front of you and knowing that in a matter of seconds the ramp is gonna drop, its protection gone and you'll have to charge those MG nests as they try to turn you and your buddies into hamburger...

The bravest SOB's on D-Day weren't the first row on the first boat. It was the guys BEHIND them who SAW their squaddies take the hits and charged in anyway knowing exactly what awaited them... apologies for the tangent to illustrate my teaching stle, this is probably why I'm about as welcome in Academia as Trotsky was in Stalin-era Moscow.

Any updates on the pistol brace injunctions? I haven’t seen much other than the house passed a resolution stating they were legal. Or prohibiting atf tards from banning them.

I don’t know of anything official, but I have seen most major manufacturers, like Geissele, are now shipping their pistols with proper rifle receiver extensions and braces.
