ALG Defense out of the Rail Biz?

I realize PA was hit hard by Covid measures, but it seems like ALG and retailers who carry them are only selling off the last rails they have in stock.

Like the subject says, does anyone know if they will be building rails again?

    Thanks

I’m guessing it was just a line that Geissele didn’t have as high of demand or profit from compared to their other handguards. They’re probably just trimming the fat to focus on their real money makers. I see that as a good thing.

That's disappointing. I see them as good general use rails.

Certainly selling a G rail for twice the cost of the ALG rail is more profitable, but ALG allowed G to produce a great value rail and other parts without distilling the G brand. The ALG brand also expanded their customer base.

I am sure Bill ran the numbers and is making the best business descision, but I will miss the rails.

I thought ALG was a separate company owned by Mrs. G, though. (ALG = Amy Lynn Geissele)

I always jokingly called ALG “almost like geissele”

My G SSA trigger had a tube of ALG branded lube in with it.

I mean, it is…but how separate is it when it’s owned by your wife and making similar products?

In the same building, probably using the same machines. It could have been brand differentiation, tax or contract advantage, or all the above.

Weren’t they using the ALG handguards for the LE line?

They could just be suffering from trying to source raw materials like so many others in the industry.
