Argentine military FAL

Looks like a collapsible stock and a rail system have been added to Argentina's FAL's. Presumably the FAL will soldier on in that country for some time to come? Can't really tell what optic is mounted.

It's been a while since I FAL'd, but I'm pretty sure an Argentine FAL has an open front sight ear... so ironically, that Argentine soldier doesn't have an Argentine FAL.

Well, obviously they are built on argentine made FALs...
They one shown is an early build, they made a very limited number.
New ones have M-Lock handguards and they are contemplating changing the meprolight M21 for the trijicon MRO, among other changes

There is are several barrel length versions, and a DMR. They are doing this is mostly because they have many FALs in stock, they like 7.62 N caliber, and funds are tiiight. But it is kinda like putting lipstick on a pig.

That's a tough call. I have several M21's, but have never used a MRO HD. Even the best red dots are still blurry to my eyes while the M21 is perfectly crisp. The M21 can wash out which is obviously not an issue with a battery powered red dot. An accessory is available for the M21 to eliminate the washout issue. It's basically a battery powered light source. The MRO HD wins in the size department. The M21 wins when it comes to the included mounts. The M21 also has a lower price.
