I'm not sure why old threads are reopened, though I admit it would be nice to see what ever ended up happening in this case.

I had never tried taking a picture of it until seeing it recommended here. Dot looks pretty darn good through my camera. Much better than I see it with my naked eye.
"Why "zombies"? Because calling it 'training to stop a rioting, starving, panicking, desperate mob after a complete governmental financial collapse apocalypse' is just too wordy." or in light of current events: training to stop a rioting, looting, molotov cocktail throwing, skinny jeans wearing, uneducated bunch of lemmings duped by, or working directly for, a marxist organization attempting to tear down America while hiding behind a race-based name

For the record, I'm not so sure it's an astigmatism, or at least a correctable/noticeable. I've been to two different optometrists and both times I tried to explain the red dot issue and they checked for an astigmatism. Both docs said I don't have one

Tell them you want your eyes to focus like the camera on your phone; problem solved.

    That does look pretty clean.

For the record, the dot doesn't look anywhere near that neat with my naked eye. Then again, i am WAY overdue for a trip to the optometrist and actual glasses.

FWIW, something Eotech will be clearer to your eyes. However, I still run an Aimpoint at work. The peep trick works great, I sight in this way, but for anything man sized, inside of 100, it doesn’t really matter.
All good points you made. I personally like the EOTech FOV and reticle better than the Aimpoint (and no, it doesn't do the funky tricks the Aimpoint does dot-wise.....maybe because it's a holographic sight?). That said, you can't beat the Aimpoint's reliability and battery life, not too mention the lesser POI shift with thermal drift.

No doubt for faster shooting the astigmatism isn't really a big issue. However, trying to zero (and be precise like my OC arse is!) or for longer shots where you might need a little more exact shot placement it is irksome.

Unfortunately every Aimpoint I tried the Dot looked like a Comet 🙁 I know my eyes are screwed. Welding and such has not been good for them even tho I did everything to make sure I protected them the best I could, that and genetics.

The Trijicon MRO and RMR dosen't have that star with a tail look to it so I have been running MRO's mostly on my AR's and a few Scopes.

I have also noticed that Green Dots look better for me for some reason. 🤔

Put a new T2 on my 12.5" Troy and shot this 30 round "group," such as it is (if it's not tidy, is it still a "group"? I feel it's more like a "gang.") Anyway, it was 30 rounds at 50 yards, aiming for the center. I made a small adjustment to move everything to the right and got caught with the end of the session so I will carry on with it being gtg until I can get back out next week. Seriously got to consider moving to a free state and having my own range/property at some point.
