    Need Razor HD 1-6 Mount

I’m looking for something solid, not heavy, not over $200, and without any sharp exposed knobs for tightening. I have an ADM Recon that I have found does not hold zero when mounting. I’d really like something taller than the standard, under 1.93.

QD does not matter to me. What say you optic gurus?

Badger and Spuhr make 1.70 height mounts.

Curious about your adm not holding zero. What’s happening?
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand

Busts my $200 limit. Took it off for flying to a match, remounted, shot the match, and was 8” high and 3” left at 100 yards. Now we have trust issues.

Midwest Industries might be your jam:

You probably can find it slightly cheaper elsewhere. Their mounts are on the heavy end of the spectrum but weight is in line with your existing mount. Horizontally split rings, 1.9” height (other heights are available) and a very solid attachment system. I’ve not got a scope mount from them but I have a couple of their Aimpoint mounts that are rock solid.

Alternatively, you might consider the “Delta” version of your ADM mount. Horizontally split rings might make the difference for you (though probably not if it was a return to zero issue).

I have an aero SPR mount that has been fantastic- several 10k run and guns that destroy weapons and have had zero issues, however the internet has informed me that it’s crap and will break. I also feel a little weird putting an optic that expensive in a $70 mount. Are those fears warranted?

Another vote for Badger. They're the only ones I know of that are making a 1.7 scope mount. Obviously over $200, but its the best.

Is there any validity to the aero = shit mount argument?

Well since you've had no issues, that could be your answer. It is not, by design, as solid as Unimounts from Badger, Nightforce etc. I've bought and sold unimounts for under $200 before

I’d also suggest just going with the Badger 1.70”. Rooftop Defense has the tan 30mm in stock and with code “Rings” it’s ~$250. Only $50 over your budget and definitely worth it.
