Finally settled on a load for my 69 RMRs'. Using W748 25.5 grains with a CCI #41, LC brass. Oal 2.246
The above is giving me 2822 FPS , extreme spreads in the teens and single digit SD.
With my 20 in Krieger barreled upper, the average group size stays under .75 in for the last 10 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Some in the . 4 inch range but most in the .6 in range. I shoot off a concrete bench with a heavy bench rest style front rest and a bunny ear rear bar.

In my Rainier 18 inch SPR barrel ( Melanited ). It stays around 1 in. About the best this barrel has averaged.

That's pretty good groups for those hot ass primers. I'd bet a simple primer swap to some Federals or something would make the load even better.

I have a limited amount of the Wolf SRM primer left that I have been using for my 77 grain xbr loads. I may try them just to see what happens.
I have tried the REm 7 1/2 primers with limited success in this load. If I can get hold of the Federal primers I will try them out. Just do not want to
find a primer combo that works better and not be able to source them.

No joke! You're getting good results already, and the Wolf may not ignite the ball powder reliably. I can't remember which ball used to give me hang fires. H335, W748, or TAC... one of them didn't like Wolf primers.

Finally got a decent load worked up.
    2725fps out of a 14.5 with a 3-18x
    23.5gr h322 w/cci41

Getting consistent hits at 700yds. With 6 mils of elevation.

Im still not happy with accuracy, but i think its the barrel. Gonna try cleaning mine, and if that fails, try a larue.

The bullets are performing very well though and more accurate than the 77s in my gun.

Or those crazy primers. My SDs pretty much double or more with 41s. And single digit SDs aren't even possible. I fudged with those 41s for 6 weeks straight... then loaded up some Wolf and got the first single digit SDs since testing the CCIs.

Reading wind is important as well. Even with a 69 grain bullet at 100 yards, a 2 MPH change in wind will equate to .1 MOA of drift on the target. At my range there are days when I see the wind completely shift from one direction to another, and push the bullet off a 1" square at 100.

For sure. I'd love to have a 200 yard giant tube to test ammo where we shoot.

Could be both and poor rear setup. All my groups were right at 1" vertical but 1.5-2 horizontal.

What good primers are readily available?

I'm assuming that these groups were shot at 100 yards? At that distance, you are barely going to see a difference in primers. Even a 100 FPS velocity spread is less than a 5% change, and may reflect a 1/4" variation at that distance.

Where it really matters is at long range where every little change in velocity is magnified.

I've shot single digit SDs with the Federal 205 and 8208 in 223 Lapua brass. Recently I was reading of someone who was getting 6 FPS deviation with Lapua brass, VihtaVuori N135, and Federal 205M primers.
