Interesting perspective: homosexuals aren't exactly "spread out" and tend to congregate together. Local communities to these groups will be effected by calling out, some heavily so; the nation as a whole won't notice. You get some small areas who cater to homosexual clients (gay bars and stuff like that), you'd be surprised what would happen if, if, their employees stopped coming to work... for a week. For a day? Eh, not likely. Businesses that fold if employees don't show up for one day are the ones already on the edge anyway.
For a group of people who are so vocal about wanting to be treated as equals by society, they sure don't act like they want to be treated as equals. That applies to every minority group, too.
