The Israelis are sending some sort of unit to aid in finding the victims. Interesting:

Yeah, they've been there for a couple days now.

That is hot, dirty, soulless work....

Rescue efforts halted for the day as it appears the rest might fall at any time.

This has gone from bad to worse at every turn.

Add 110 mph winds sustained for 10-12 hours to some of those 40 year old buildings.

I notice that recent photos of the searchers have them wearing respirators, and I don't think it's for COVID. I'd imagine since it's been almost two weeks and with the heat that the stench is overpowering.

Masks don’t help much with smell. N95s are usually used to control fine particular/dust. The building was concrete, that dust does a number on the lungs.

It seems the current uproar is over abandoned pets and perceived lack of effort in locating them, stalling the planned demolition of the remaining tower briefly. I can't wrap my head around that, but I am an insensitive lout. https://nypost.com/2021/07/05/heartb...med-legal-bid/

I mentioned this to a buddy after I posted the above and he said the same thing: because of particulate dust.
