    A folding stock BRN-180

I have a Sterling in Texas and then Brownells offered an AR180, half the price of another original piece. With the weight of the mlok, aluminum front end, recoil is non existent and the action is buttery smooth.

How does the feel compare to a well tuned AR15?

A real Armalite is light due to the stamped receiver, light barrel and bakelite furniture has a noticeable recoil pulse from the bolt carrier.

The BRN180 is front heavy and has a very light recoil much like a SIG Virtus carbine.

The only real part for tuning an AR is a silent capture spring, and possibly a muzzle brake. The 180 takes all the lower upgrades to make a folding stock a compact vehicle carbine like a BAD lever, ambi safety and mag release.

The accuracy is a 3 compared to a $3000 AR15, there are no aftermarket parts to accurize the 180 but it is enjoyable to shoot, fun to practice reloads like an AK with the benefits of a LRBHO.

    Hope the anecdotes help.

I suppose I meant optimal gas port size.

There's only full gas and suppressed.

Good choice in weapon. I have done a couple BRN-180s to date. The first one (16" Gen 1 BRN-180 and BRN-180 lower) I did was a little over a year ago and the most recent (Gen 2 BRN-180S and 17DM-180 lower) being a pistol build. For the stock on the rifle build, I chose to use the SIG SAUER Minimalist folding stock. If I were taller, I would have had to use the Minimalist Plus. Being 5'6", the Minimalist works well. On the pistol build, I went with the A3 Tactical Picatinny Modular Side Folding Arm Brace (8.65” offset) w/ Tailhook adapter and Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 1 Pistol Brace.

    Folded:

The SIG stock is pretty popular.

I would also like to know what adapter you are using to attach the Zhukov stock.

you have to drill out a rivet on the Magpul Zhukov stock to remove the AK adapter, and to install the Haga picatinny hinge adapter. pretty straight-forward.
