There is one very dangerous moment while performing that Caan-Segal method.
When the finger is on the slide, next to or slightly over the muzzle, and the slide is not yet moved out of battery, then any "oops" with the thumb in the trigger guard is very dangerous. Thumb safety is off, has to be to allow the slide to move. Shaking with adrenaline? Elbow bumped? You can think of other events which make it a not-good method. Sooo close to a BANG at that point.
